Fun Times on The WB

Gilmore Girls
Even though most people can't believe I watch this show (and I can't either most of the time), I still watch every week. I really don't care about any story line except Lorelai and Luke and Rory and Logan. Everyone else pretty much gets on my nerves and the constant banter gives me a headache. Thank goodness for TiVo though. I can watch this hour show in about 20 minutes and move on. This is a common thread TV problem for me. If I start watching a show, I somehow feel obligated to keep watching, even if I lose interest, until the show ends. Where did I pick up this habit? Why can't I just "let it go"? Who knows! I think this is what most people would call a true additction. I admit it though, I'm certainly not in denial. That's the first step right? But anyway, Rory has been acting out this year, but I'm a little annoyed by that. Who just up and quits Yale? Lorelai got engaged to Luke, but for some reason, I think she's going to chicken out and run away. Rory's boyfriend Logan is way hot and I found out that he's 29 years old in real life...so now I can really like him. So with that said...I'll continue my addiction and keep watching.

This new show is still in its "trial period" for me. With the executive producer coming from Friends and an executive consultant from Sex and The City, it at least starts off with a good base foundation. So you'd think. I think right now they are really trying to build up the characters, but I hope they really start sucking the audience in soon. I really want to like this show. It's about 4 sisters living in NYC and you see each seperate life as well as how they all twist together. It's "cute". I can give it that so far. It's only been two weeks and we're just starting to get into the juicy details of their lives, so it has potential in my book. I'll be reviewing my opinions in the next couple weeks. Here is last week's recap. These girls also better remember they're on opposite of Lost. BIG competition. Lucky for me, I feed my addiction with two TiVo boxes.

One Tree Hill
Damn technology. As much as I love it...it isn't perfect. There must have been a small glich this week with the channel changing becaue my OTH didn't record. The channel must not have changed all the way and I got some other crap on there. Boo! But here is the recap for this last week. Looks like Dan remembered what happened in the dealership fire and Haley and Nathan still haven't gotten over their tiff. I'll be sure to check on my TiVo this week. Maybe I'll set it up on both TiVo boxes if nothing conflicts. I hope they do a good recap of last week so I can get the gist of it.

Smallville
Another good episode. But when is it really not a good one? Clark of course got his powers back. But he didn't give up his powers without consequence. The deal Jor-El made with Kal-El is he will get his powers back but someone that he loves will die for it. Any guess who? I'm going to say Clark's dad. He's had heart problems and run-ins with Jor-El in the past. They wouldn't get rid of Lana or they would take out one of the best drama elements of the show. I must say, one of the best parts of last week's episode was Clark and Lana getting busted after hooking up the night before. She was definitely doing the walk of shame out of that house...and fast. Too funny. Those silly kids! After Clark got his powers back and flew up to dismantle the missle that was about to hit Smallville he was definitely depressed. I hope he comes out of it soon and really just starts to embrase who he really is. We don't always like what we're given in life, but we certainly have to make the best of it. So man-up Clark! The world needs some saving!

Supernatural
Yeah! The writing has gotten better and the corny jokes have been cut in half! I'm really starting to like this show now. It's still no Buffy, but it's a good substitute for now. I like how the stories are based on old folklore/wives tales/etc. This week's episode on Bloody Mary was a good one. Also, we find out a little more on the Jessica story. We find out that Sam had dreams about what was about to happen to Jessica right before she was murdered and he didn't tell her. So he ended up blaming himself and saying that if he warned her, she would have lived. Although somehow I doubt that. Whoever killed her definitely wanted him back in the "game" becuase of his past and/or for what his Dad and Dean have been up to. We also got a clue that their Dad is still alive. (maybe) All of a sudden he has a voice mail message on his cell phone. Good sign? Guess we'll see. Looking forward to getting more attached to this one!

Powers shmowers!

Clark Kent showed he can save one episode with no powers...but how boring! Who doesn't love to see him speed around, burn things with his eyes or throw a tractor around? His parent's house would be built in an hour and he'd have that done on top of still being about to go fool around with Lana. I'd like to give a full CONGRATS to both of them for doing the deed before they set off to the real world. Snaps to the horizontal mambo!

This was a great episode in the neverending Clark and Lex saga though. We all knew they couldn't just stay friends forever, and Lex has finally crossed the line in Clark's book. This should definitely make this season interesting. Chloe will be an important character and friend to Clark this year. When Superman becomes Super again, he'll at least be able to talk with someone. Will he finally tell Lana?

Generally this was an uneventful epsiode. The two big things were Clark finally telling Lex to "bugger off" and him and Lana hooking up. Important non the less, but next week will rock. We see Clark get shot in the next episode which only means Jor-El to the rescure and the powers are back! I'll be hanging on to see every second!

Teen angst at it's best!

Another great season of One Tree Hill has started this week. This show makes me miss my high school years as much as it makes me never want to go back. There's something to be said for young love. That's the time in our lives that we tend to be the most open with loving and being loved. After your high school loves is when it really gets difficult and the walls start to form. Are we protecting ourselves or do we just learn over the years how much bullshit we'll really take?

First of all, I'm pissed that Dan didn't die. But why would he? 1/2 the drama would fly out of the window. This guy is pure evil. I will definitely be cheering for him to go down this season. He just may take someone with him. Haley ended up coming back to Nathan, and it looks like he's considering taking her back. Which is good. I mean, come on, you guys are young. Do you really think this will be the only mistake you're going to make in your marriage? Um, no. Already though, they've stayed together longer than their co-stars in real life. Chad Michael Murray (Lucas) and Sophia Bush (Brooke) are already calling it quits after only 4 months. Way to go guys! Way to stick it out and work on things. What is wrong with Hollywood? What can't anyon just date like normal people?!?! But I digress. Peyton finding out she was adopted was pretty huge. The hair cut is cute as well. Should be interesting to see how her biological mother comes in to play this year. Deb may finally get her divorce and be able to move on. And Brooke definitely has some issues. If she's doing the whole "let's not date exclusively thing" before she's even out of high school...she's royally screwed up before even becoming legal. Have to give props to her parents for that one. And where in the world is Keith? I bet he'll come back and stir up some trouble with Karen. We can only hope! Here's the recap of this week's show.

So happy this show is back for another season. I don't know what I'd do without my 90210-Dawson's Creek-esque type shows each year!

LOST? I am!

Ok. It's 12:55 am and I just finished watching LOST on TiVo. What the hell is going on?!?! Locke is completely freaking me out, Jack might be losing it, Ana-Lucia from the airport bar could easily kick my ass and has turned to the dark side and we still have no answers on the Others. How is it a show can be this confusing and frustrating and still keep my attention? Well, it's JUST that good! I'm serious.

This show we got to see a little more how messed up Locke is. The flash backs to when he stalks his dad are a classic case study for Psychology 101. It's obviously carrying over to his current situation and he's fallen into this mind game trap of pushing a button every 108 minutes. Was anyone wishing Jack wouldn't hit the button? I really wish he didn't! What the hell could happen anyway? I understand the whole symbolism of the "leap of faith" and all that...but come on. Hopefully more will be revealed so I can believe too. And what is the Desmond/Jack connection?

And the biggest question of all? How come after every show all I have are questions?! I guess I just have to wait for the Island to answer them.

Would Buffy and Angel be Proud?

This is the question that Supernatural needs to ask themselves. Am I proud? Not too sure. Another new show I'm feeling out this year. The concept is along the lines of the previous above mentioned shows, but the one cool thing is the little bit of "spice" they add. Each deamon/ghost/etc. on this show is based on traditional folk-lore stories. So that's kind of cool. You can Google info about a Wendigo or angry spirits getting revenge before the resting in peace and all that jazz. So will that help keep the show alive? Don't know. Have I fallen for this show like I've fallen for others? Not exactly. And they have about 2 more shows to win me over. (I can typically tell the fate of a show after 3 episodes, but because I love The WB, I give them 5. Even if I already know their fate.) The two main actors, Jared Padelecki (from Gilmore Girls), Sam, and Jensen Ackles (Smallville), Dean, are having some acting issues in my opinion. Liked them both in their previous roles in other WB shows, but this show is making me think twice about them. It could just be the writing, but I have my eye on them. I'll hold out any more opinions until I see them shape up, but otherwise, the new freaks of The WB may be on their way OUT in my book.
